If you are looking to improve your photography I offer 1-2-1 and group tuition focused on helping you make the most of your current skill level.

During 1-2-1 tuition I will work with you to identify areas where development is required and from this I will develop a personalised plan to make sure we use our time together as productively as possible. This can include anything from understanding your equipment or which equipment you need to purchase to taking more creative approaches to your photography and helping you understand composition and light.

I am happy to travel so whether you want half a day locally to help you better understand your camera or a weekend in the Lake District or somewhere similar, honing your landscape photography skills, if you have been inspired by my photography and would like to improve yours why not contact me using the form below.

Whilst I can’t make you a top photographer over night I can teach you the tips and tricks needed to take your photography to the next level.     What will I learn?

    The tutorial session will be tailored to your needs and strengths. If you want to know more about composition, that’s where we’ll focus, if a knowledge of filters and when to use them is most important to you then that will form the basis of the day, and if you’re just starting out with nothing more than a keen interest then I will guide you through the basics of landscape photography.

    My sole aim is to improve your photography and enthuse you to get out and improve further by practising the skills you will learn during the session. The beauty of a 1-2-1 session is that we work at a pace that suits you and your ability.

    Techniques taught include:

    • Identifying the scene and seeing the shot
    • Understanding composition and compositional techniques
    • Understanding light and it’s effect on the shot
    • When and how to use filters and other exposure control techniques such as HDR
    • Long exposure
    • Understanding your camera
    • Leaving Auto mode behind
    • Understanding Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO and their relationship
    • Using the histogram to ensure your exposure is correct
    • Understanding focus and depth of field
    • Why you should shoot RAW
    • Post processing and why it is essential
